Who I am

I fell in love with photography in high school in the early 1960s, then again in college at the University of California, Riverside, where I worked on the newspaper and yearbook, taking photos of everything from sporting events, plays and concerts to student protests. In 1969, I traveled to Berkeley to cover the People's Park march and San Francisco to cover the huge antiwar "Moratorium" rally and march as well as covering protests in Riverside through the spring of 1970. I also freelanced, taking photos for the university and photographing musicians, including Jimi Hendrix, during concerts, rehearsals and interviews with entertainment writers. But as a career, I pursued journalism, while never abandoning my passion for photography.

I worked for more than 40 years as a journalist, from photographer and reporter to editor. I also have had my own wedding photography businesses and freelanced as a photographer during that time. I also have had gallery shows in South Florida and Louisiana.
